Process & Workflow mapping
What is the difference between Process and Workflow?

Process and workflow terms are used interchangeably, which can cause confusion on intended use and who the audience is. There are different levels and ways to capture process maps and workflow. The reason to capture them may be to fullfil a short term need (project/change) or as part of Management Information System (operational). There may be a need to translate business documentation to technical workflows and reflect technical scenarios in scope.
Example of distinction between the two could be :
-Process: business-facing engagement
-Workflow: communicate technical/system/data workflow.
OR
-Business Processes need to be understood and approved by the senior leadership team and subject matter experts that may not be technically savvy.
-Technical Workflows are more focused to help technical teams and the business align on complex system changes.
